8 Most Ridiculous Wrestler Injuries To Occur Outside The Ring
7. Mick Foley Loses His Teeth (But Not His Smile)
For years in WCW, Mick Foley (wrestling as Cactus Jack) would tell how Sting had knocked out his two front teeth in a match in Raleigh in North Carolina. That’s not quite how it happened, though – and in the first volume of his memoirs, Foley came clean with the truth of how Jack’s crazytrain grin became that disturbing.
He’d been a passenger in a friend’s car, on their way to a old buddy’s bachelor night, when they collided head on with an oncoming vehicle that wasn’t displaying any lights. Their own vehicle was a wreck, but miraculously no one was killed. The two friends that were sharing his car woke up in the hospital, but Foley remained conscious – after all, he was used to being bumped around.
Badly hurting his shoulder, and with a nasty laceration to his leg, Foley also had his teeth knocked out when he hit his face upon impact. He’d end up losing more teeth in the ring later on in his career, as well as an ear… but it didn’t stop him marrying a model and fathering a brood of attractive children, proving that personality will get you places after all.
