Rockstar Spud has been great in the role of an underdog babyface, but the company keeps messing up his character quite badly. WHY?

When he was in a subservient relationship with EC III, fans wanted to see him break out on his own and shut up his tormentor. And while he did turn face, he was never given that big feel good victory against him, and then, the two just moved on.

TNA soon had Spud win the X Division Title in a feel-good (though incredibly rushed) moment, then quickly had him drop it without any fanfare. After a six month run as a babyface, they turned Spud heel again on EC III...even though Carter probably deserved it for everything he did to him.

Most recently Spud has gone back to portraying one of the weakest members on the roster, and has been used in attempt to put over Braxton Sutter, which doesn't seem like the right use of anyone's time. Spud has proved that he can talk, and that fans are willing to support him, so what's stopping TNA from giving him a decent push?

It's a bit of a wonder why the company gave up on something that was clearly working in the first place. But such is life in TNA.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
