There were several minor skirmishes between Welterweight champ Tyron Woodley and Conor McGregor in the run-up to UFC 205 which asked the question of 'what if?' Kicking off with the soon-to-be two divisional titleholder claiming that he was coming for 'all the belts' on the table to the chagrin and surprise of 'The Chosen One' before the two would later share a charged and potentially combustible moment on Friday during the early morning weigh-ins, speculation has ran rampant as to whether he would have the gall to attempt to improve upon the monumental feat and capture a third championship.

Claiming that 'if he wants the fight we can sign it right now', it is as yet unknown whether any medical suspension will impede Stephen 'Wonderboy' Thompson from being granted his immediate rematch for Woodley's Welterweight title after their jawdropping majority-decision draw on Saturday, but it could produce a vacuum in which the respective rulers of their divisions could put on a full blown superfight.

Although supremely confident in his abilities and off-handedly claiming that competing with him would be a bad move for McGregor, it's not as though we haven't bore witness to the SBG based fighter heading up to the 170 lb weight class, and although his opponent is a much more physically opposing specimen, it's getting harder and harder to write Conor off as he continues to flout every expectation or arbitrary boundary. Add in the financial prosperity which a fight of this magnitude would yield during Conor's peak as a commodity and it becomes a lot less farfetched than it initially seems.
