8 New Directions After WWE Fastlane 2018

8. A United States Triple Threat At WrestleMania

WWE's automatic rematch clause idea enables them to book a quick repeat, and that'll be the case with Bobby Roode and the United States Title post-Fastlane. Unfortunately for Bobby though, Jinder Mahal will be coming along for the ride too.

With Randy Orton the new US Champion and Mahal attacking him post-match, it seems nailed on that we'll see a Triple Threat come WrestleMania. The narrative here is likely to be Jinder claiming Roode doesn't deserve another shot and being shut down by a disagreeing SmackDown GM Daniel Bryan.

A three-way gets all involved a 'Mania pay day (something WWE seem keen on), delivers on the beaten ex-champ's rematch and gets Mahal into the story all at once. It makes perfect sense, and it's where WWE are surely heading.

At least Roode, title or not, will be on the card.
