Arguably The Rock's first major movie role and the one which opened the door to him embarking on a career outside of the wrestling ring, a cameo appearance in The Mummy Returns led to Johnson taking on a leading role in the awful, but watchable, Scorpion King. When wrestling fans heard that The Rock would appear in The Mummy Returns, little did they realise that most of his time would be spent as a really poorly CGI'd scorpion. It was disappointing and failed to show off The Rock's acting ability as well as some of the other cameos listed here. However, it did at least set him on the path to becoming the Hollywood juggernaut he is today, and is significant for that if nothing else. You have to believe Vince McMahon regretted letting him take this part though, especially as Johnson left the company shortly after. Who knew playing a CGI scorpion could lead to greatness?
