8 People You Won't Believe ALMOST Became A Wrestling Champion

1. Wesley Snipes

To R-Truth, a man that hasn't just become a Champion but the Champion of a division that theoretically shouldn't even celebrate its titleholder. Ron Killings' deft touch with wrestling comedy has elevated a potentially stupid piece of tin into something so great that a Hollywood megastar nearly got hold of it.

In his words from a podcast chat with Sam Roberts, R-Truth said;

"I got a chance to interview Eddie Murphy, Michael Keegan-Key, Wesley Snipes. And these people was wanting to come to the show that night and Wesley Snipes was talking about becoming the first actor to become 24/7 Champion...[he] had his head on his chin while I was interviewing him and contemplating on 'what do I have on my schedule tonight? Because I think I'm going to go to the Staples Center and try to win this title.' That would have been great, man."

Snipes sadly never made the show, though WWE's decision to briefly award it to star DJ Marshmello on the very same episode did indicate their genuine intent to do something daft with one of LA's best and/or brightest.
