8 Predictions For NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn II

Beat this, SummerSlam...

NXT Takeover Brooklyn II

As stacked as WWE’s SummerSlam card is this year, there’s a good chance they’ll be outdone this weekend. NXT’s TakeOver specials have developed a habit of stealing the main roster’s thunder. The most obvious example came over WrestleMania weekend, when TakeOver: Dallas produced a night of thrilling action that made the disappointing ‘Mania 32 feel tired and laborious by comparison, and it’s far from an isolated incident.

The TakeOver brand has become synonymous with excellence, and NXT’s live specials have produced some of WWE’s best matches over the past few years. TakeOver: Brooklyn II looks set to continue that tradition with six thoroughly exciting matches lined-up, and if the performers deliver, we could have one of the shows of the year on our hands.

There are a number of questions heading into Brooklyn II. Will Samoa Joe’s NXT Title reign end at Shinsuke Nakamura’s hands, or will Finn Balor’s conqueror triumph over The King of Strong Style? Can Bayley regain the Women’s Championship she lost to Asuka back in Dallas, and can the plucky Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa wrest the Tag Titles from the devious Revival’s clutches?

Let’s take a stab at it. Here are 8 predictions for NXT TakeOVer: Brooklyn II.

8. Ember Moon Will Shine Against Billie Kay

Ember Moon is one of NXT’s most exciting female signings in a while. Debuting in 2007, the former Athena has worked for some of the biggest independent promotions in the United States, and is now regarded as one of WWE’s hottest prospects. A supremely athletic worker with great charisma, she looks set to take the NXT women’s division by storm, and it won’t be long before she joins Bayley and Asuka as the elite.

She meets Australian grappler Billie Kay in Brooklyn. Billie’s been on a decent roll since appearing on an episode of SmackDown back in June, and she’s picked-up wins over Liv Morgan and Santana Garrett in recent weeks. As one of the females tasked with stepping into the gap left by Carmella and Nia Jax, Kay has prospered as a cocky heel, and should have a bright future in WWE’s women’s division.

Despite Billie’s recent push, it’s hard to bet against Ember Moon at this point. WWE love debuting new talents with a strong set of victories, particularly when they come with an independent resumé as strong as Ember’s. Perhaps it’ll end in controversy to spark a long-term story between the two, but for now, look for Ember to stake her claim on the NXT roster with a debut win.
