7. He's Charismatic

Cena is often lambasted for failing to take opponents seriously, peppering his promos with needless jokes and a cringeworthy, childlike vocabulary. His efforts to be more serious are also subject to intense criticism, as fans quickly tired of his intense mic work in the build up to a big match - especially given his tendency to bust out a fart joke in the very next sentence. On the plus side, however, Cena has an undeniable charisma. He always comes across as believing exactly what he says, and never seems to flub a line or lose confidence on the mic. He knows exactly what many WWE fans think of him and gladly plays up to it, while remaining a heroic figure to those who support him - a very difficult balance to strike. Although by no means a promo master in the vein of The Rock or CM Punk, he is definitely a cut above particular workers such as Bret Hart and Chris Benoit who - despite possessing the ability to tear it up in the ring - were never considered the most charismatic of figures.
