8 Reality Era Matches To Convince Doubters To Get Into WWE

1. The WWE Title Ladder Match - Money In The Bank 2014

WWE.comWWE.comAt the time of this writing (and possibly, publishing) this match and event hasn't even occurred yet and, despite that, I'm putting it on this list for a couple of reasons, regardless of how 'good' the match itself turns out to be: 1) It's an example of one of WWE's long-running gimmick matches which are a cornerstone of the product and 2) it features some future main event star power, who look set to be highlighted for years to come. It's entirely one thing to show a relative newcomer matches from one year ago or two years ago or 15 years ago as an attempt to sell the product of professional wrestling but the truth of it is, there's no time like the present. If we are to be fans, what can we expect to see tomorrow? What makes WWE great right now? Bray Wyatt, check. Roman Reigns, check. Cena, yes Cena, check. Most importantly, what has always made it great: athleticism, personality and a hot, live crowd. Check, check, check (don't let me down Boston!). There is one last thing that this match will display that has become a staple of WWE's success over the years. Shawn Michaels thought it important enough to mention during his retirement speech. The production value. The lights, the music, the pyro and video packages. The pageantry, as it's known. Much alike a live music gig, WWE brings all the flash and glamour to its arenas and you can bet we'll see it in full-force come Sunday. Being a pro-wrestling fan isn't always easy. We have to deal with the pudding matches and vomiting; the farting gimmicks and Santino. Unfortunately, there are times when we have to turn a blind eye to the dreadful comedy. However, during those face-palm moments, we can take solace in knowing that the next 'high-spot'; the next great promo or superb, back-and-forth match is never far away. Then, Now and Forever, in some ways, wrestling never changes. That's why being a fan is as easy as it seems hard to be.
