8 Reasons CM Punk Maintains Such Fanatical Support

8. He Was A Great Wrestler

First things first - CM Punk is a wrestler, and a damned good one. Honing his craft in front of some of the independent scene's most demanding crowds, he developed into a master of the ring with his own unique style. The lineage of the Ring Of Honor World Championship is littered with the names of some of the best workers of the 21st century: Low Ki, Samoa Joe and Austin Aries. There's also the current ROH alumni in WWE like Daniel Bryan and Seth Rollins. Admittedly, CM Punk isn't the most spectacular or athletic of wrestlers. Those regarded as the modern era's elite are usually a great deal more nimble than the Straight Edge Superstar - Shawn Michaels, Eddie Guerrero, and so on. What Punk lacks in spring, however, he makes up for with his fantastic technicality, striking profciency, and - most importantly - incredible storytelling ability. Punk's now legendary match with John Cena at Money In The Bank 2011 is a masterpiece of pacing, psychology, and managing the crowd.
