8 Reasons Holly Holm Knocked Out Ronda Rousey At UFC 193

3. Holly Holm Is That Good

Andy Brownbill/AP Andy Brownbill/AP Lets face it - Holly Holm is no slouch. Multiple pundits and sports media outlets over the years had pegged Holm as a possible Rousey-killer, WhatCulture included. However, no one expected it to happen so soon. The going line on Holm was that she had a ton of potential from her boxing and kickboxing days, but that she hadn't fought stiff enough competition, and needed time to mature as a true mixed martial artist. Her takedown defense was the big question. While she didn't show a ton of it Saturday night, she did prove that she could survive off her back against Rousey, and even took Rousey down herself at one point. Then there's her striking, which is clearly on another level. While Rousey has improved as a striker, there's no question that Holm is the better of the pair on the feet. Which brings us to the next reason Ronda Rousey lost at UFC 193.
