8 Reasons NXT Takeover Was Better Than WWE SummerSlam

5. Clean Finishes

Every single match had a nice clean finish on NXT. Some fans might consider that boring, but I enjoy booking that is going to commit to a winner and a loser. Being a developmental promotion, the endings don't necessarily need to be controversial.

Take for example Jon Stewart costing John Cena the U.S. and WWE titles. I get why that was done; it got the WWE tons of mainstream press that they always look for, but when you really think about it a 52-year old comedian cost "Super Cena" the match. Needless to say he's been through some wars this year and has been able to win nearly all of them. Then the former "Daily Show" host comes along and suddenly he's Cena's kryptonite.

The same goes for Undertaker and Lesnar, their ending might be good for the over-arching story that's being told, but it was kind of a letdown for that individual show. This weekend, NXT allowed championship to be won or lost on the merits of only the wrestlers and the live crowd showed its appreciation for that.

Josh's work has been seen on Cageside Seats, Yahoo, and The Richest. If it's not pro wrestling, he's definitely thinking about cured meats and/or sushi, but never all three at the same time...that can get weird. Twitter: @HeelDoors
