8 Reasons WWE Needs To Reunite The Shield

1. To Salvage Roman Reigns

WWE wants Roman Reigns to be the most beloved superstar on the roster. Whether you care about the guy or not this can’t really be denied, as he is generally front and centre of posters, merchandise and all the rest. He may not be accepted by the crowd as such, but in the eyes of those who make the decisions he is the man to lead WWE into the next generaton.

If we forget the blindingly obvious heel turn option, the best way to salvage Roman Reigns in the eyes of the WWE audience would be to reform The Shield and put Reigns back in the role he portrayed so well. Reigns was the perfect enforcer, a genetically-gifted ass-kicking machine he didn’t say much but didn’t need to.

It isn’t going to be a quick fix, but what better way to bring the best out in an individual than by putting them in the role they were made for? Reigns is a long term project for WWE, and The Shield is the short term solution to guarantee that long term success.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
