Carlito's debut saw him defeat John Cena for the US Championship, way back in the latter's 'Dr. of Thuganomics' days. With Cena again US title holder, and in search of a new opponent to square off against, who better than the Puerto Rican? All kinds of references could be made to their original feud; Carlito could air old embarrassing videos of Cena freestyling, or bring up past defeats. WWE may want to ease off any mentions of Jesus, Carlito's bodyguard who infamously "stabbed" John in a nightclub, but the rest of the old storyline would be gold. Of all the reasons on this list, this is sadly the least likely to have a real impact. WWE are notoriously selective about which parts of their history they emphasise, and a reminder of Cena once losing to a perennial midarder like Carlito probably wouldn't go down well with Vince and co.
