The word "international" is banned because, well Im not quite sure. The guidelines state that the word global should be used instead. One possible explanation for this is the slight differences in the definitions of the two words. The word global refers to matters concerning the entire earth, whilst the word international is defined as something that concerns two or more nations. Therefore, describing the WWE as having a global appeal as opposed to having an international appeal does actually seem to make a more impressive claim. But lets face it, prior to reading that last paragraph how many of you would have actually ever distinguished between the words global and international rather than just using them interchangeably? I for one wouldnt have (I had to Google the difference between the two for the purposes of this article), so Im assuming that I wasnt alone on this. Whilst there is a slight distinction between the two words, the word international is arguably the more accurate word the WWE should be using in most instances. When referring to their fan-base they can accurately state that they have international appeal whereas they can only speculate that their appeal is global. Given the number of international Superstars that have fought for the WWE over the years, it also seems particularly odd to take away one of the words that could be used to describe them. After all, the term global Superstars doesnt really make as much sense.
