Going into last night's draft, there was a feeling that The Club would be split up. I'm not too sure why, but it may very well have been more surprising had Luke Gallows, Karl Anderson and AJ Styles remained on the same show. As it was they did get split up, with AJ going to SmackDown early on and Gallows & Anderson getting drafted 22nd to RAW.

This could only be a good thing for Gallows & Anderson, undoubtedly one of the top heavyweight tag teams in the world. Free from the shackles of being Styles' cronies so to speak, they could begin to flourish and break out on their own, surely winning tag gold before the year is through.

What is more likely however is that a reverse-NJPW is going to happen. and AJ Styles will be replaced as leader of The Club by newly drafted Finn Balor. Sure, seeing Balor, Gallows and Anderson back together will be fun, but it could very well come at the expense of a truly dominant heel tag team, one that could have added weight to an eventual tag title win for a newly drafted team on SmackDown.

'For Life' indeed.

Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man.
