8 Teams That Must Be Involved In AEW's Tag Title Tournament
8. Best Friends
Good ol' Chuck Taylor and Trent Beretta, otherwise known as Best Friends, will be one of three teams vying for success during the Fyter Fest pre-show on 29 June. Should they win that Triple Threat, the boys will advance a stage towards All Out in August, where they'd then compete for the right to earn a first round bye in the tournament.
Win or lose at Fyter, they belong in the brackets.
Crucially, Tony Khan didn't say that losing teams in that three-way would be eliminated from the tourney full stop. That means, even if the Best Friends don't win, they'll likely be there come October's TV launch on TNT and the start of the tournament proper.
At Double Or Nothing, Taylor and Beretta were impressive against Angélico and Jack Evans. Though that match didn't really achieve anything outside of filling a spot on the card, it should've shown AEW bosses that these Best Friends have serious potential.
