Having Brock go public and announce the deal just a few days before his main event clash with Roman Reigns was a shrewd move on WWE's part. Vince McMahon and his team can't possibly be oblivious to the lukewarm reactions that Reigns has been drawing, and if the final segment on the go-home Raw was any indication, the fan base simply does not want him to win the title Sunday night at the biggest show of the year. Which would be fine if he were the heel rather than the fed's anointed hero marching to fell The Beast. What this new deal does is give them some options and a potential way out of the corner they've foolishly booked themselves into. Prior to the re-signing, they were going to be fielding a lame duck champion who most assumed was headed back to UFC against a mishandled golden boy that the audience has chosen to reject as the WrestleMania main event. A recipe for disaster if ever there was one. Now Lesnar can retain the title in a hard fought contest that earns Roman some respect, while sending the crowd home happy by keeping the belt on a guy they've been dying to cheer anyway.
