8 Things We Learned From CM Punk's Sports Illustrated Appearance

5. He's Less Offended By The Term "Fake" Than Many Fans

Tell a professional wrestling fan that it's all "fake" and they'll likely get offended and talk about how it's scripted, choreographed, rehearsed, anything but fake. The injuries are real though, so it's still real to them. Well, to be fair, they have a point, but the injuries are real for movie stuntmen, but we don't try to claim they're really fighting. Still, you would think of anyone, a pro wrestler would stick to the "it's scripted" line - but not Punk. He dropped the dreaded F bomb in his Sports Illustrated interview;
"In pro wrestling, it€™s fake. People always get offended by that word. €˜No, we like to say it€™s pre-determined.€™ For whatever reason, people get angry at fake; pre-determined eases the blow? It€™s fake. At the end of the day it doesn€™t really mean anything. So after a while, it was, €˜Let€™s just really fight and see what happens.€™ Now I get to."
