If anything, the main takeaway from the podcast is further confirmation that Luke Gallows may very well be the funniest guy in professional wrestling. His impersonations are on point throughout, and his storytelling is impeccable (more on that later). He's also a heck of a lot younger than I thought.

Gallows started wrestling at the tender age of 18, and was first signed by WWE when he was just 21 years old. This means that when Jesse and Festus made their debut on WWE TV, our dear Luke Gallows was just 23 years old.

Looking at any and all pictures of Festus, it seems improbable that the man behind the character was 23 years old but it's true. A 23 year old man with a skullet yes, but still.

Gallows tells the story of the arrival of Zack Ryder and Curt Hawkins, both of whom are the same age as him. The duo's initial reaction was one of almost sympathy, as they assumed Gallows was just an old Memphis journeyman being given one last shot.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
