8 Things WWE Fans Need To Know About KENTA

7. KENTA's Best Years May Be Past Him

Kenta Kenta KENTA's in-ring style places an incredible physical demand on him, so much so that by October 2009 he suffered a knee injury (torn ACL) that put him out of action for seven months. As well, in 2011, he suffered yet another torn ACL that put him out for seven more months. Wrestling fans familiar with KENTA's in-ring style between say, 2003-2007 may be underwhelmed by the KENTA they see in WWE in 2014. Though having significant success as a top-of-the-card player in NOAH for the past three years, KENTA's spent as much time working as a manager and developing submission maneuvers as he did chopping, kicking and striking his way to glory. Yes, a technically sound KENTA certainly adds another key player to WWE's already overflowing bench of talents available to be potentially big-time contributors. However, KENTA going back to the style that made him a favorite among DVD sellers and indy fanatics worldwide likely isn't to happen. KENTA developing his more well-rounded style in WWE could yield dividends, just not the industry-changing ones from his past that so many are likely to expect.
