8 Things WWE Fans Need To Know About Candice LeRae
3. An Intergender Pioneer
LeRae's most famous work can all be tied together in a neat little World's Cutest Tag Team-branded bow. The Mae Young Classic aside, the bulk of her biggest moments have come through wrestling with men, not women, whether it be tagging with Joey Ryan, or competing against some of the biggest names on the independent circuit.
Unsurprisingly, PWG played host to much of her most prominent intergender work. Adam Cole, Kevin Owens, Cesaro, Rich Swann, Johnny Gargano: she has worked them all in Reseda, and defeated many of them. Her introductory feud was a bitter, heated spat with former PWG mainstay Human Tornado, whom she and Chris Hero defeated in a mixed tag match back in March 2008, kickstarting her rise in popularity
Candice has had plenty of great matches with female opposition too, but it's these trendsetting bouts that stick out the most. Along with the likes of Ruby Riott and Abbey Laith, she's largely responsible for popularising intergender wrestling on the American indies, though it's something she obviously won't be able to indulge in when she starts with her new employers.
