8 Things WWE Got Wrong At Clash Of Champions 2016

4. Chris Jericho Defeats Sami Zayn

Chris Jericho has been great as of late, this nobody can deny. A heel turn has reinvigorated him, and his friendship with Kevin Owens has been one of the undoubted high points of WWE RAW in recent months. Jericho represents great value to WWE in putting over future and current babyface stars.

Which is surely what should have happened here, right? Now I get that Sami Zayn is from the Dean Ambrose school of babyfaces, those good guys who seem to retain crowd support despite losing more often than not but, sweet lord - a clean-as-a-whistle loss to Jericho? Sure, it didn't do too much harm to AJ Styles earlier in the year, but Sami Zayn is in a different position.

Since beating Owens at Battleground in July, Zayn has perfected the art of spinning wheels. Whereas Owens has gone on to bigger and better things, Zayn has found himself stuck, forever in the shadow of his former best friend. Heck, a feud with Jericho is only one step away from Owens after all.

The match was fine, but there was no reason for Jericho to go over here, let alone go over in the manner that he did.

Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man.
