Let's get the positive out of the way first; this match was far better than it truly had any right to be. A six-man tag match featuring six certified hosses in 2016 doesn't illicit great excitement, but a closer look shows a group of performers who know what they are doing and do it well. Luke Harper is secretly the best wrestler on the show, Big Show and Kane can do this in their sleep, Ryback is way more mobile than he is given credit for and Braun Strowman is, well, strong. Erick Rowan was there, too. The problem is that this is the latest chapter in the demise of the Wyatt Family, and I genuinely feel that in years to come the botching of this group will go down as one of the biggest errors of recent WWE history. Gone is the optimism that their constant losing is leading to something bigger down the line. The Wyatt Family is as neutered a group as can be remembered, a sad state of affairs for all involved. This is extra problematic because all of the rumours point once again to Bray Wyatt being involved in a showcase match at WrestleMania. It may have been his henchmen losing, but it reflects on him as their leader. One can only assume that this decision was made with Wyatt most likely being involved in something minor at 'Mania. Finally, Luke Harper took the pin. This is a case of personal taste to a degree, but isn't 'taking pins' Erick Rowan's job role in the Wyatt Family? Harper should be protected and he wasn't here.
Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
