8 Things WWE Got Wrong At Royal Rumble 2016

3. Chris Jericho Lasting 50 Minutes

Chris Jericho is one of the greatest professional wrestlers of all time. This is a fact that isn't up for debate. The man has done it all, put on some of the greatest matches and stories of all time and managed to do it all on his terms. He's an all-timer, to say the least. Despite this, him lasting the longest in the Royal Rumble in 2016 (I'm not counting Reigns, as he was out of the match for the vast majority) is ridiculous booking. Sure, the 'good worker enters early and lasts a long time' trope is one of the most-used in the rumble, but for good reason. It gives fans a reason to get behind someone who doesn't get the spotlight very often. Jericho is a part-time performer now, and whilst he can still perform at a very high level this spot should have gone to a whole host of other people. I'm not talking about men likes Owens, Zayn and Ambrose, they served the stories they needed to when they entered. The same can't be said for Neville, Stardust, maybe even AJ Styles. What about Dolph Ziggler?

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
