Okay, so this might be WrestleMania 33’s slogan, but slogans are supposed to be indicative of a show’s overall tone or entertainment capabilities. You don’t go into a movie with the tagline ‘Be afraid. Be very afraid’ expecting a light-hearted romantic comedy, nor do you go into ‘The Ultimate Thrill Ride’ expecting a long and arduous snooze-fest.

That’s kind of what WrestleMania 32 was – it lacked huge moments of joy or levity, and generally felt like something you had to endure, rather than something you’d paid money to enjoy.

There’s no way that this year’s show can be a fast-paced rollercoaster-esque spectacle from start to finish, nor should it be. The best rollercoasters have peaks and valleys, moments of slow build before immense catharsis. WrestleMania is no different – not everything can be the main event, but everything should feel important or worth sitting through on the way to the show’s climax.

But if WrestleMania 33 is more valleys than peaks, that rollercoaster staging they’ve built is going to look awfully silly alongside the ‘Ultimate Thrill Ride’ slogan.
