8 Times Game Of Thrones Characters Were Wrestlers

A Clash of Kayfabe, A Storm of Suplexes...

The hero's journey is the same whether you're talking honorable Starks in Winterfell, duplicitous, incestuous Lannisters or bright coloured, leggings wearing men in Stamford Connecticut. At first glance the Wars of Westeros may seem light years away from WWE. But, looking closer, it's obvious that all the jealous, power-hungry and violent characters of Game of Thrones are a lot like WWE superstars past and present. From the suspiciously Sting like mopings of Jon Snow, to the red-haired badassery of Lita and Ygritte, both shows give guys with neck beards something to be excited about. With WrestleMania around the corner and a new season of George RR Martin's stab happy folks premiering in April, spring is about to be totally awesomely sprung with cool new footage. And the more you look, the more it's possible to suspect that WWE might actually stand for Westeros Wasting Everyone.

8. Ygritte The Wildling Is Lita

€œYou know nothing, Jon Snow€ - Ygritte €œIf it€™s not in your heart, you€™re not going to make it.€ - Lita BadAssery: Ygritte survives an ambush, escapes as a prisoner and climbs The Wall; Lita had similar moxie when she moved to Mexico to train. She became one of the most over faces in WWE, whether working in Team Xtreme or facing Trish Stratus one on one and is most known for the Litacanrana, a wicked diving hurricanrana. Love Life: Since wildlings believe in marriage by capture, Ygritte is Jon Snow's wife and their sexy cave romp is one of the show's top moments. Even after Snow turned on her and she shot him, fans rooted for them. News of Lita's real infidelity with Edge and breakup with Matt Hardy lit up wrestling message boards in 2005. And fans nearly booed her out of Madison Square Garden. Bad Ends: Sadly, Ygritte died at The Battle of The Wall. Lita's exit from WWE included losing to Mickie James in her last match and having the gangster duo Cryme Tyme auction off her panties in the ring. No good end there.
