In the Spring of 1990, Vince McMahon was eager to supplant Hulk Hogan as his top superstar, hanging the reigns to somebody younger who could steer the company through the new decade. The hand-picked successor was The Ultimate Warrior, and it was decided that the reigning Intercontinental Champion would beat Hogan at WrestleMania VI, capturing the WWF Title while he was at it. Billed as 'Title vs. Title', the bout felt larger-than-life, aided by McMahon's own cheesy voiceover, which compared both Hogan and Warrior to Gods. It was typically brilliant WWF fare, and each fan had their own favourite, showing up to the Toronto Skydome dressed as Hulkamaniacs or having their faces painted like Little Warriors. http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x1w71q1_wwf-wrestlemania-vi-the-ultimate-warrior-vs-hulk-hogan_sport Writing in his WWE-published first autobiography that he was eager to steal Warrior's moment from his grasp, Hogan may have handed the title to his successor, and left the arena to the gaze of thousands, but he couldn't change history, and few will forget that it was The Ultimate Warrior who came out on top during this one. Fans didn't quite warm to Warrior the same way they had Hulk Hogan, which meant the latter was called back into action just one year later, but it was still incredible to see Hogan lose cleanly - following a big splash from Warrior - on such a grand stage as WrestleMania. What other clean losses can you remember involving Hulk Hogan? Do you recall any of the ones on this list? Let us know down in the comments section below!
