The aforementioned January 2002 return in MSG was a banner moment in Triple H's career. He'd battled back against a career-threatening quadriceps tear, and spent the majority of 2001 rehabbing like a man possessed. So, imagine the mental anguish when he suffered another quad injury at New Year's Revolution 2007.

That happened just a few weeks out from the '07 Rumble, which meant Trips would be skipping another major pay-per-view payday through no fault of his own. There was deflation amongst fans when Hunter crumbled during a tag with Shawn Michaels vs. Rated RKO at NYR - people knew this wasn't some worked homage to 2001.

It'd be a while before they'd see 'The Game' again.

It's not hard to picture a glum Trips sitting around back home watching the 2007 Rumble and wishing he was out there working. He would've loved to open the 30-man match with Ric Flair, for example. That would've been special for both.
