8 Times Triple H Thought WWE Royal Rumble SUCKED

5. Sucking Wind With Scott Steiner

Triple H WWE Royal Rumble Sucks

You knew this would be here.

Scott Steiner got a huge pop when he re-debuted in WWE at the 2002 Survivor Series. New York was hot for 'Big Poppa Pump', and it looked for all the world like the company had a new top babyface. Then, after a few months of house show squashes to get him warmed up, Scotty worked a disappointing match with Triple H at the '03 Rumble.

No, it's nowhere near the 'worst match ever' status some give it, but this was hardly a stellar start for Steiner. It would've also been depressing to Hunter that he couldn't carry Scott to anything passable on the night. In fact, he'd struggle to do so again the next month at No Way Out.

Steiner had impressed during his run as WCW World Champ in late-2000/early-2001, but this WWE intro vs. one of the best big match guys around was rotten. Triple H has to take his fair share of the blame for that too though.

It was 50/50.
