8 UFC Dream Fights Fans Never Got To See

4. Ronda Rousey Vs. Cris Cyborg

Right now, it’s a little unclear as to what the future holds for Ronda Rousey, as she's on a hiatus from WWE. And in an MMA sense, she last fought back at December 2016’s UFC 207.

Famously, Ronda lost her last two UFC fights – against Holly Holm at UFC 193 and Amanda Nunes at UFC 207 – and her decision to step away from the fight game has left fans doubtful of ever seeing the dream fight of Rousey vs. Cris Cyborg.

As is so often the case in the MMA world, timing is everything. Having become a star in Strikeforce and then carried the ball in Invicta FC, Cyborg would eventually make her long-awaited UFC debut at May 2016’s UFC 198 event. The Brazilian’s UFC arrival, however, would take place while Rousey was on a year away from all things MMA following her first ever defeat at the (literal) hands of Holm. Added to that, any potential fight between Ronda and Cris Justino always seemed to have issues with just what weight such a contest would take place at.

Unfortunately for those hoping to see the mouth-watering prospect of Rousey vs. Cyborg, Ronda would have her final UFC fight just seven months after Cyborg debuted with the company. Since then, Rousey has indicated that she has zero plans to return to MMA – while Cris Cyborg is now signed to Bellator MMA.

If anything, this match-up has more chance of happening in the confines of a WWE ring rather than in any MMA promotion.
