8 Ups & 1 Down From AEW Dark (Oct 15)

5. From Undesirable To Undeniable

Cody debuted a new segment on this week's Dark, with Undesirable to Undeniable designed to let the audience "get to know some of the new faces," apparently. It worked.

This week's guest was referee Aubrey Edwards. When asked about a time when she felt undesirable, she spoke about working WWE's Mae Young Classic tournament so early in her young career, and her disappointment when the promotion claimed they weren't interested in giving her a full-time gig. She wondered what she was missing, and Cody acknowledged that when you asked that question in WWE, they don't tell you.

So Edwards tried to figure it out herself, asking herself what she could do to push forward. Fast-forward to All Out, where she felt undeniable as she stood in the middle of the ring, holding the AEW World Championship aloft. This gave her a new perspective on success, and now, she's "paying her bills and having a blast."

Undesirable to Undeniable looks like it's going to be a quick, effective way to get personalities over, and it's cool to see AEW investing in a referee like this. Giving Edwards, Rick Knox, and co. personalities brings another layer of detail that wouldn't exist otherwise.
