8 Ups & 1 Down From AEW Dynamite (10 May - Review)

7. A Show-Long Sense Of Mystery

The show-long thread might be considered a 'Down', but that would depend on how everything plays out next.

The framing of the set-up for next week's huge announcement was very well done. With a roving reporter on the scene, catching up with unexpected developments, Dynamite felt less regimented than it sometimes does. Renee Young twice happened upon both Miro (!) and Thunder Rosa as they took meetings with Tony Khan.

Digging deeper, the idea that a returning Miro would request a meeting with Tony Khan, on the back of which Khan decided he needs two more hours of television, was really quite flawed. Negotiating a TV deal and adding two more hours to Warner's primetime schedule takes far, far longer than 45 minutes, which seemed to be the insinuation here.

Also, in kayfabe, shouldn't Miro have smashed someone's face in to get his point across?

This was intriguing and questionable, all at once, but the angle nonetheless was another, welcome hint that AEW is set for a massive summer reboot.
