8 Ups & 1 Down From AEW Dynamite (24 Aug)

Ups...

8. What An Upgrade

Motor City Machine guns
AEW

Sonjay Dutt grabbed a microphone after Dax Harwood vs. Jay Lethal, swerving an established All Out match. Rather than facing Dutt, Lethal, and the green Satnam Singh at the pay-per-view, FTR and Wardlow will fight Jay and the debuting Motor City Machine Guns on 4 September.

That this angle would have been more satisfying had Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin appeared in person is a valid argument. Nonetheless, this is a considerable upgrade. Singh, as fun as he has been in fleeting outings so far, has a long way to go, while Dutt is more effective in his over-the-top managerial role than between the ropes these days. On top of this, Motor City Machine Guns vs. FTR is a sought-after dream match - one that can finally happen in the aftermath of this.
