8 Ups & 1 Down From AEW Dynamite (March 20 - Results & Review)
Ups...
8. Resourceful, Solid Stuff
Thunder Rosa and Deonna Purrazzo defeated Timeless Toni Storm and Mariah May.
The general thrust was that Rosa, in tagging in unexpectedly, has both raised the ire of Purrazzo and entered the title picture by scoring a flash win over Storm. Two matches will materialise from this finish. This was resourceful storytelling that both sets up Rosa's medium term direction and ensures Purrazzo, like so many others, isn't disappeared after losing at the PPV - albeit at the expense of the title and its holder.
The action was mixed, but mostly promising. Mariah May is still a bit green - lost, she was slow meeting Purrazzo back in the ring at one point, grinding things to a halt - but she's so impressive physically with her endless spinning backbreaker. More importantly, exerts total command of the crowd. That intangible star quality nobody can define: she has it.
Toni Storm Vs. Thunder Rosa looks to be the direction for Dynasty. On this very brief evidence - it was a women's match, you know what that means, it wasn't so much eaten up but inhaled by the commercial break - they share a pulsating physical chemistry.
Before Rosa scored an out of nowhere win, Rosa took Storm's snap German suplex like an absolute champ - which hopefully indicates a return to the hard-hitting big Toni Storm match of old.
