8. Styles Struggles Versus Corbin

Baron Corbin is a very ordinary professional wrestling. He is the anti-Ricochet: a ground-up Performance Center project with passable instincts, passable fundamentals, and passable everything else save for a couple of flashy signature moves. The former 'Constable' is therefore precisely what Vince McMahon looks for in a heel, even if his attributes don't always make for exciting matches.

Carrying him to a good-to-great bout can be done, though. Roman Reigns proved it at Fastlane, with their electric interactions clear highlights in The Shield's six-man battle with the Corbin-led Dorks of War. 'The Big Dog' helped make 'Big Banter' look like a million bucks: AJ Styles had the same mission last night, albeit in singles combat, and he failed.

Their number one contender's main event was as bland as unbuttered toast, though they weren't helped by the deader-than-dead Des Moines crowd. It was the epitome of a two-star special, and while it's sometimes easy to accept such clashes on weekly television, these 13 minutes felt like double that. Meh.
