8 Ups & 2 Downs For WWE SmackDown Superstar Shake-Up

Ups...

8. A Modest Mellabration

Having finally scored the SmackDown Women's Championship after an exciting cash-in on Charlotte Flair seven days prior, Carmella was always going to gloat last night, and she delivered her "Mellabration" as the blue brand crept into its second hour.

Given the exponential improvement Carmella has made as a performer over the past year, it was a moderate letdown. Not quite the gloriously braggadocios celebration it could've been, it unfolded in predictable fashion, with multiple interruptions crowding the scene.

First came Charlotte, who was understandably gunning for a rematch. The IIconics followed after last week's beatdown, and delivered a promo similar to their introductory diatribe, prompting Flair's attack. Becky Lynch arrived to clear the ring, and Kay vs. Charlotte was set up.

The segment's most entertaining portion was Carmella's opening promo, as she has become a perfectly detestable heel. Coupled with the closing stretch's functionality, it was enough to mark the angle as a net positive, but not "must see."
