8 Ups & 2 Downs From AEW Dynamite (16 Feb)
1. Violence Is Forever
Though much of Dynamite's early stages were built around two of the best wrestlers in the world in CM Punk and Bryan Danielson, Jon Moxley's promo was a reminder that the former AEW World Champion absolutely belongs in the same conversation as them.
Moxley was fantastic as he answered Danielson's challenge to respond to his invite the other week. Going all the way back to his early days as an indie wrestler in Ohio, Mox ran through his various failed attempts to slay the American Dragon, putting himself in a similar position to the young wrestlers Danielson proposed they craft together.
But Mox has a problem. He always wanted to beat Danielson, but Bryan wants to align with him. Maybe, this represents a victory in itself. Either way, Moxley doesn't side with anybody until they bleed with them first. Expect them to wrestle at Revolution as a result.
This storyline is befitting of Danielson and Moxley and where they are in their respective careers. Both have been around long enough to be considered veteran-adjacent, giving them the gravitas required to elevate the Lee Moriartys and Daniel Garcias of the world, but each has years left to go as a top-level competitor as well. As such, the possibilities coming out of this are almost endless.
And the story so far has been great.
