8 Ups & 2 Downs From AEW Dynamite (16 Feb)

6. Eddie Kingston Was Right

Chris Jericho continued to be the biggest thing standing in the way of The Inner Circle's success on last night's Dynamite, as him focusing on Eddie Kingston fed directly into his and Jake Hager's loss to Santana and Ortiz.

Set up last week, the bout concluded when Jericho attacked Kingston, who was on the ropes, leading to Ortiz clocking Chris from the outside, Santana landing a discus lariat, and the pin. Afterwards, a furious Jericho leapt out of the ring to brawl with Kingston, earmarking their potential Revolution match.

It was the right outcome for Santana and Ortiz, who needed to beat Jake and Jericho after showing fire in last week's in-ring promos. The match was good, too. While Jericho is visibly slowing down between the ropes now, a high-effort performance from Santana and Ortiz and a well-structured string of tags and exchanges kept it hot, with Hager utilised effectively in his powerhouse role.
