8 Ups & 2 Downs From Last Night's WWE SmackDown (Sept 18)

2. SmackDown Belongs To Becky Lynch

Her booking is the pits, but Becky Lynch remains the true queen of SmackDown.

Not for the first time since SummerSlam, her performance in bringing the creative department's shoddy material to life was exemplary. Carrying herself with the confidence and swagger of someone double her size, she spoke with authority and bite, particularly as she ripped into Charlotte Flair.

'The Lass Kicker' claimed SmackDown was her show now. She then called her former friend out, before continuing her verbal barrage, saying that Flair had been beaten and proved wrong. Then came the snidest touch yet: Becky allowing Charlotte to raise her hand. Flair refused, of course, but couldn't get away from Lynch, who not only declared herself the blue brand's queen, but threw another "b*tch" Charlotte's way, sparking a brawl that ended with Becky in complete control as the show went off the air.

This would be the best storyline in the company if the writing aligned with the performances. Sadly, that's something we may never get, but at least Becky is doing everything she can to knock it out of the park.
