8 Ups & 3 Downs From AEW Dynamite (16 Oct)

2. A Bit Of A Mess

Adam Cole The Dark Order

Oh boy, this will get some heat from staunch AEW fans, but here goes.

That six-man tag, whilst all-action, was a total mess of spots and illogical refereeing. Things got so messy, in fact, that even JR piped up on commentary to suggest that the ref start actually counting wrestlers out (or at least try to restore some order).

Good fun, sure. Logical and impactful long-term? Nah. This Dark Order thing has run its course, being brutally honest, and they weren't good opponents for The Elite here. Also, it's super-weird that The Young Bucks keep working these PWG-style tags without sticking to the rules other AEW tags seemingly have to.

One word would sum it up: Overkill. Fans chants "This Is Awesome" near the end, but that chant has become a bit of a joke over the years and shouldn't be taken seriously 100% of the time. Yours truly didn't click with this - he didn't see what it was supposed to achieve.
