8 Ups & 3 Downs From AEW Dynamite (4 October - Results & Review)

Downs...

3. Not Another One

Adam Cole
AEW

AEW are going to keep doing these pre-taped post-produced skits in which MJF or Adam Cole will look down the camera to get away with the artifice of it all before the gags and the mandatory slow-motion physical comedy happen.

They're over.

There was one funny gag - the implication that Roderick Strong cries out "Adam!" at all hours of the day and was surprised to find out that Cole was indeed outside of his house and had answered his call - but elsewhere, this was actively bad and charmless. This device worked for a while when elevated by Cole and MJF's incredible chemistry, and while it's not as if Cole and Roddy are lacking in it, these skits already feel like a diminished return of something that took the piss out of AEW's fictional world in the first place.

Here, Roddy asked Cole despite his injury to move his furniture around because Cole has a knack for "Feng Shui".

What?

It might be time to give this up, or at least overhaul the format. Better Than You BayBay are on indefinite hiatus. Without the deafeningly over in-ring aspect, the material is too lightweight by far.
