8 Ups & 3 Downs From AEW Dynamite (Dec 9)

5. Adrenaline Rush

Young Bucks
AEW

The Young Bucks tweeted before last night's Dynamite, stating that their clash with The Hybrid2 was going to be divisive, and their pre-match promo saw them cordially invite Angelico and Jack Evans to a Superkick Party. A spotfest was to be expected, and a spotfest is what we got.

The Bucks vs. TH2 was a wild, adrenaline-pumping ride from one big spike to another, with lots of tandem work, double-team moves, moves executed in symmetry by individual team members, and the focus firmly on the endorphin rush. Anything else would have been a betrayal of the Jacksons' current storyline. After FTR attempted to rebuild the tag team division in their own image, Matt and Nick are doing the same, stamping their identity on the scene to widen the gulf between them and FTR.

Expect the Bucks to keep leaning into this as we move forward. The point is to emphasise the flashier elements of their style to affirm, definitively, that they are FTR's antithesis, as we build towards their second Tag Team Title match.

Stylistically, this bout won't be for everyone, but the story is tremendous and a ringside confrontation with The Acclaimed, who were run off by SoCal Uncensored, adds new branches to the tree. Good stuff.
