8 Ups & 3 Downs From AEW Dynamite (Feb 10)

6. Big Money Gets Shorted

Matt Hardy Hangman Page
AEW

Last week, this column effectively labelled Hangman Page a dummy for not immediately calling Matt Hardy out on his bullsh*t after falling for the same deal so many times in the past. This week, Hangman Page showed he was the smartest man in the room by swerving Hardy, pulling out his own managerial contract as 'Big Money Matt' tried to swindle him like he did with Private Party a few weeks ago.

It's as if Page reads the column*.

This was what the storyline needed. Page let Hardy take him out on the town on Matt's dollar, allowed his sales pitch, and swung it back in his favour. The best part? 'Big Money' was totally oblivious to it. He thinks he has just won control of Hangman's career when the reality is probably the opposite. Throw the awkward "bumping into your ex at the nightclub" interaction between Page and the Dark Order and you have the most effective little segment series on your hands.

* he almost certainly doesn't, but let's pretend he does. It's nicer that way.
