8 Ups & 3 Downs From AEW Dynamite (Sep 23)

2. Brodie Mauls Cassidy

Orange Cassidy Brodie Lee
AEW

Orange Cassidy vs. Brodie Lee was a torture session for long, long periods, with The Dark Order leader dominating 'Freshly Squeezed' in a manner similar to how he handled Cody a few weeks ago.

Starting the bout by shoving his hands in his pockets and hitting the soft kicks got OC smacked in the face and beaten down. Lee was a monster, here, completely controlling the babyface, even going so far as flexing before pulling his singlet's straps down, busting Cassidy up to the point he was unable to stand.

Orange devised a ploy from this. He feigned further exhaustion to dodge two discus lariat attempts, then fired up after suckering Brodie in, somehow nailing an Air Raid Crash for a close two-count on the behemoth. A great, spirited fightback, though it was undone when John Silver took the Orange Punch for Lee, allowing 'The Exalted One' to take it via powerbomb and discus lariat.

A great, well-paced match that benefitted from a signature excellent Brodie Lee layout. Silver was a highlight, too. The guy is crushing it now, and from ridiculously beating Orange's jacket down before the bell to applauding the abusive Brodie after being laid out by him, he nailed it again - and was complimentary rather than distracting.
