8 Ups & 3 Downs From AEW Dynamite (Sep 23)

2. Shida & Rosa Clunk Past Ivelisse & Diamante

Hikaru Shida Thunder Rosa
AEW

Last week brought reports of real heat between Ivelisse and Thunder Rosa, who fought through a series of uncooperative moments in their heated Dynamite match. It was therefore curious that AEW chose to keep a tag bout with the duo on opposite sides intact last night, but they did, and the end result was a clear step back from Thunder Rosa and Hikaru Shida's recent output.

Shida and Rosa were victorious, with the AEW Women's Champion pinning Diamante after a knee to the face. The events leading towards this were clunky. It's entirely possible that this was an extension of last week's heat, though the wrestlers struggled to click regardless of what combination was in the ring, resulting in a rough bout all-round.

Not bad or awful by any stretch, but not up to scratch - particularly for Shida and Rosa.
