8 Ups & 3 Downs From Impact Wrestling (Jan 14)

2. Make It Matter

Impact Wrestling had teased the return of the most dangerous event of the year, and now they've revealed their steel cage-based pay-per-view Lockdown will be coming back on 28 March at the St. Clair College in Windsor, Ontario, Canada. An exciting return, but there's a slight problem with the announcement.

The event will be broadcast as an Impact Plus special. For those unaware, these specials rarely matter to the main Impact product.

As a result, it's likely this will be a one and done situation. Considering they were making such a big deal out of this on social media prior to the official announcement being made (although everyone and their dog could guess it was Lockdown, given the description), it seemed as if they were actually bringing it back as a proper pay-per-view. Seeing as Impact's pay-per-views are always a delight to watch, as well as the fact there's only usually four a year, it would've made perfect sense for Lockdown to be brought back into the mix.

Just think about an Xscape Match with the current crop of X division stars, or Team Blanchard vs. Team Callihan in a Lethal Lockdown Match. It's possible we'll still get these matches, but it just won't be the same.
