8 Ups & 3 Downs From Impact Wrestling Rebellion 2019

7. Action-Packed Opener

A previously unannounced contest kicked off the night as Petey Williams, Aiden Prince, Ace Austin, Eddie Edwards, Jake Crist, and Cousin Jake went at it in a high-octane six way match. To the shock of no-one, this was a hell of a way to kick off the night as each man put in a performance to remember.

There wasn't a single bad moment in this one. From bell to bell, all six men got in their fair share of offence, including Jake Crist catching Ace Austin mid-flight with a Crist Cutter on to everyone else at ringside. When push came to shove though, it would be Ace who walked back through the curtain with a victory as he sneakily rolled up Petey Williams after Williams had downed Cousin Jake with a Canadian Destroyer.

Without a doubt, Austin was the right winner. He's one of the newcomers to the division, and so a pin over an X Division legend like Petey Williams will do wonders for him going forward. Rich Swann needs a new challenger to his X Division Championship since his rivalry with Sami Callihan is seemingly finished. Perhaps Ace Austin is the man for the role.
