8 Ups & 3 Downs From Impact Wrestling Rebellion 2019

5. Road To Victory

Taya Valkyrie continued her reign with the Knockouts Championship at Rebellion as she defeated Jordynne Grace via submission. The match was a fine one, nothing too special but it served its purpose.

For the bulk of the contest, the champion wore down the challenger by working on her arm, a tactic that would eventually work out for the best as it rendered Thicc Mama Pump helpless by the end of the match in time for Taya to nail the Road to Valhalla facebuster. Taya did take her fair share of damage during the contest, suffering an apron powerbomb from Grace.

It just goes to show not everything has to be about flips and insane spots, which were more than covered in two of the other championship matches on the card. This does however beg the question as to who will be the one to usurp Taya as the Knockouts Champion. Jordynne Grace seemed like the best fit but unless they have another bout in the near future, it doesn't appear to be her. Nevertheless though, this was a lovely match with some great storytelling throughout.
