Downs…

3. A Match For Match’s Sake

Cliché booking isn’t always a bad thing, but sometimes it can be a bit boring and predictable.

Randy Orton battling Gunther’s Imperium stablemate Ludwig Kaiser was about as predictable as possible heading into Bash in Berlin, right down to Kaiser targeting Orton’s knee to soften him up ahead of Gunther’s title defense.

The match itself was technically OK, and there’s mild praise to come for Gunther and Orton’s interactions, but there wasn’t much pop to it, and as noted later, it’s not like anything terribly significant was added to the mix this week.

A World Heavyweight Championship feud should have a bit more development to it, and this week did not. The crowd reaction carried the day overall, but Raw’s main event could not have felt less significant.
